Nowadays, it seems like all of us suffer from allergies to one degree or another. While we can only do so much to avoid allergens in the great outdoors, reducing their effects inside our homes is a much more manageable task.
Our best tips on reducing allergens in your Arizona home:
- Vacuum and dust regularly. Goes without saying, but maintenance is the best way to keep the allergens in check.
- Clear the clutter. With fewer spaces for dust to accumulate, regular cleaning becomes exponentially simpler.
- Keep pets clean and well-groomed. Regular brushing or professional grooming (if necessary) can reduce the amount of pet dander and fur throughout your home.
- Keep your bathrooms cleaned to deter mold growth. Mold is often a bigger culprit of allergy issues than dust, so break out the bathroom cleaner, and get scrubbing.
- Wash towels and bed sheets regularly. Doing so can prevent mold growth as well as dust accumulation.
- Go easy on the candles. They may smell great, but they put dust and soot all over your home. Opt for soy candles if you don’t want to give up candles altogether.
- Move your furniture to dust and vacuum those hard-to-reach spots.
- Clean out your computers, video game consoles, and other electronics. Lots of dust bunnies like to hide there!
- Don’t forget to dust your blinds.
- Potted plants can be a source of mold growth, so either relocate them outdoors, or keep them in rooms you don’t frequent as much.
Did you know? The air in our homes is often more polluted than the air outside. Want some peace of mind? Schedule your Arizona air quality services today.
