Every month, we get that envelope in the mail that creates anxiety before we even open it. The electric bill. As the cost for utilities continues to skyrocket, consumers are prudent to look for alternative ways to control their electric costs. Monitoring electricity usage is one of the easier tasks to do in your home, and it pays off exponentially!
A few tips to lower your electric bill:
- Replace your incandescent light bulbs with more energy-efficient fluorescent bulbs.
- Consider installing timers in your bathrooms for exhaust fans and lights.
- Unplug your charging units when you are not using them. This includes cell phones, game electronics, etc.
- Turn off the “heated dry” cycle on your dishwasher and allow them to air dry.
- Utilize ceiling fans to help and cut down on your air conditioning use.
